Hike To The Top Of Murchison Falls

The hike to the top of Murchison Falls is another exciting adventure in the park. The hike takes you to the most thrilling part of the falls, where you can witness the 8m wide trench where the Nile water forces its way through the gorge under high pressure.

The adventure begins with a 2-hour boat trip on the Victoria Nile, providing excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. Alternatively, you can drive to the top of the falls. Upon reaching the bottom of the falls, you will disembark from the boat and begin the hike to the top.

Professional park ranger guides will accompany and lead the hikers, offering insights about the park during the approximately 45-minute walk from where the boat docks to the starting point of the guided walk at the top of the falls. The route includes areas with waterlogged paths and opportunities to observe various bird species, butterflies, and other wildlife, giving you a fantastic experience of Uganda as the "Pearl of Africa." The hike also offers stunning scenic views of the park's beauty.

On reaching the top of the falls, you will be greeted by the powerful roar of the waters as they plunge into the gorge over the rocks. This sight is truly mesmerizing, engaging all your senses: watching the white water cascading through the chasm, hearing the deafening roar, feeling the spray on your face, and sensing the ground vibrating beneath your feet. It's an overwhelming sensory experience!

During the hike, your safari guide will drive to meet you at the top before returning together to the lodge.
